Barcelona

Here I am in Barcelona, Spain. We walked down the very crowded main Boulevard on our way to check out the Mediterranean Sea. There were some really cool sand castles on the beach and we saw a man making one. The water was warm but I was shocked at how people litter the beach. At night they clean it up!

We went on a bus that you hop on and hop off when you want to. We saw lots of famous buildings designed by the architect Gaudi. They were very fancy. My mom took a funny picture of this sign, Later we went to the aquarium. I loved it and I learned a lot about what lives in the Mediterranean sea. Donna and my mom are scared to swim in it now but I am excited. The one picture is of some really cool "Weed Seadragons".

Oh, things are looking familiar now! Wasn't that Gaudi some artist? Nothing else like it in the world. La Rambla is certainly much more crowded than when we were there in October, .
The Book & Briar is closing the end of the month so we went to check out the sale today. Even Papa bought a book! Calvin bought Alice in Wonderland & I'm enjoying listening to Kathy (& Didi) reading the story, thinking of the different Gr. Rd. kids in the various roles.
See all you can of Barcelona.

Something seems to have happened to the first comment I made so I'll just have to add another.
Your wonderful pictures are looking quite familiar but when Papa & I were in Barcelona, in Oct., La Rambla wasn't nearly as crowded as it appears to be in July.
Isn't Gaudi an amazing artist? Nothing to come close to his style anywhere in the world, I'm sure.
Book & Briar is closing the end of July so we all went there today to check out the book sale & have a cup of coffee/hot chocolate. Even made a few purchases.
Enjoy Barcelona.

This is my third attemp trying to post on the blog. The first 2 looked like they worked but I'm thinkin' not.
Isn't that Gaudi architecture something else? La Rambla is looking much more crowded than when we were walking & sipping sangrias on it.
Enjoy your stay in my favorite city!

Hi Gals,
Very cool pictures. I love the wonky house! It looks like you guys are having the most amazing trip. I am totally jealous. Maybe one day you can take me back there, Erin?

Travel safe. Stay away from snakes and Camel Men.

Okay, you knew I was going to post something about the pink universal sign for public peeing fines. I think Calvin (jr., that is... not sure about papa) would be a poor man in that part of the world. These days, I encourage him to go ANYwhere, as long as his pants are down! Take care you rascals. Is that a black-tip reef shark? Be careful!!

EEE! I think I should be checking out Barcelona, especially if you can walk along the Mediterranean and live in a place that has curves. How cool is that? I've taken many opportunities to swim in the Mediterranean and managed not to bump into any dragons (or other scary sea creatures) so tell your Mom and Donna to toughen up. Be seeing you soon - FINALLY! xo DDD!

Wow! Barcelona looks SO cool! I heard it was amazing. Guess you guys aren't bored yet eh. The weather is getting hot here, though it continues to rain off and on, and storm, and tornado, and flood. Can't wait to hear some good stories from your travels.

PS Spice and Gabby and JD say hi. And so does Kim - although she probably shouldn't be grouped in with the animals.
