Fez, Morocco

We went to the Medina in Fez. It's kind of like a downtown but there's 9,000 streets and some are only 1 meter wide! It's huge and it was built in the 9th century so it's also OLD! These pictures are taken by my mom because I was focusing on not getting lost. The picture with the camel head was there because someone was selling camel meat and the head hangs there to prove that the meat is really camel meat. How you know if the meat is any good is if the tongue is sticking out then it's a sign that the meat is bad. The one picture is of guys in big round tub things of dye. They are men dying leather to make things out of leather. It smelled terrible and that's why I had the mint leaf to smell. It helped a little bit. Mint tea is crazy in Morocco. Everyone drinks mint tea... except for me. But you never know, I might try it. We were in a carpet store today and we all got mint tea but I didn't take one. My mom choked on a mint leaf and she was OK, it was kind of funny. All the signs are in Arabic writing and the other language spoken is French.

Amazing and beautiful photos. You are someplace I've always wanted to go to. I love the music store! How funny that you ran into an Australian couple named Pete & Jess. This is the name of our favorite Aussie couple as well (Molly and Luka's parents). Enjoy your exotic surroundings and come home safe.

Wow, what a beautiful spot you are in now. I can't even imagine being there-such a different culture but quite an education for a 10 yr. old.
Your pictures are just amazing & a keepsake for sure!
Sarah & Wes are off tomorrow morning to see Joni & crew tomorrow then on to Banff the following day.
Enjoy & DON'T GET LOST!!!

Hey Erin - tell your Mom and Donna that when Christy and I were in Cuba, we went 'off resort' to have a meal with some people we met and had what the bar owner called a Boom Boom Mojito. It's a drink with mint in it, too. One of our friends must have got all the Boom Boom - she found a worm in her drink!! Ewww! You're smart to avoid the mint drinks...

Have fun!

HAPPY CANADA DAY to you folks & all your Canadian travelling buddies!
Big day for the Riders too. It's the first game to kick off the 100th anniversary, against Montreal, here in Regina. Didi & Mark are working at it, scanning tickets.
I'm wearing my Canada Day shirt & Papa is in his green Rider shirt so we kind of look like Christmas!
