The hills were alive with the sound of music but we did NOT climb every mountain and I did learn new words for the song Do Re Mi, but it's about beer! These steps are at the Mirabell Gardens and are where they sang Do Re Mi while jumping up and down the steps in the movie. The house and lake should look familiar and for sure the gazebo!
This is the Mozart Bridge, in Salzburg, where Maria and the kids ran along singing Do Re Mi. We went to the village where Mozart's mom was born and also where some of Sound of Music was filmed. It was beautiful. Mozart is from Salzburg so there is lots here that is about him and about music.
Then we went to a huge beer hall and had supper. Weird that in all the bars and beer halls everyone takes their kids and.... their dogs! It poured rain all day and my mom says she is getting "umbrella elbow" from having to use her umbrella day after day after day! My mom is happy because it is much less expensive here than in Geneva!

Too bad about the rain but it doesn't look like you let it dampen your spirits in any way!
I found my Sound of Music music book today so I'm sure you'll want to learn to play all the songs on your violin. Sorry it isn't Mozart!
Great pics again with the funny looking dude under her pink polka dot umbrella.
Kathy, Calvin & Hannah will be leaving St. John's bright & early Sunday morning, heading west.
